I was skeptical that Mr. Musk would succeed in taking over Twitter given the significant government and corporate equities at stake, but it looks like he will prevail. I will work on some longer thoughts when the situation settles down – but I remain steadfast in my view that Mr. Musk’s take-over of Twitter is a positive development. As I opined, he could hardly make it worse, and the shake-up of Twitter is good in and of itself. While we wait to see what comes of the fast-moving developments, this is a good time to remind everyone that there are free and open source decentralized alternatives to Twitter available (Twitter isn’t necessary).
