On March 29, 2024, I wrote what was to date my only snack recommendation article in Snack Recommendation: Carr’s Whole Wheat Crackers. I specifically recommended making peanut butter sandwiches with these thick, slightly sweat, and rich whole wheat crackers.

I had recently purchased two boxes of the Carr’s Whole Wheat Crackers on sale at the grocery store. My plan one morning was to make two cracker-peanut butter sandwiches to go with my early afternoon coffee. But that seemed too subdued. What if I had something on my kitchen counter that would take my cracker-peanut butter snack to the next level? It just so happened that I had bananas on hand.

I “frothed” the milk by shaking the milk bottle. I then topped it with cinnamon.

As you can see, I opted against turning the crackers into peanut butter sandwiches and instead topped four crackers with peanut butter and two banana slices. I am a big fan of peanut butter and banana sandwiches in the same way I like peanut butter and raisins. These cracker treats did not disappoint with my coffee (I discussed my coffee mug in a separate article).

Having determined that the Carr’s Whole Wheat Cracker-peanut butter-banana combo worked well, I tried the snack with low-sodium Triscuits two days later.

The Triscuits are a little bit smaller (and healthier) than the Carr’s Whole Wheat Crackers, so I went with one banana slice for each Triscuit instead of two. These two came out well. The Triscuits lack the Carr’s sweetness, but the hint of salt (regular Triscuits have more than a hint of salt) and their wheaty crunchiness go well with peanut butter and banana.

Editorial take: Certain crackers go well with peanut butter and banana. Consider this my second healthy cracker snack recommendation for New Leaf Journal readers.
