On May 17, 2025, I mailed Newsletter Leaf Journal 232. I explained to readers that there would be no regularly scheduled newsletter on May 24 because I would be on vacation. To be sure, I was in Texas from May 21 to 28, and upon returning, I published two articles about my adventures in Houston Hobby Airport (see Learning About William P. Hobby at Houston Hobby Airport and Failing to Try Airport Illy Coffee Vending Machine). I looked like we were back in business.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, I drafted what would have been Newsletter 233. Shortly after I finished my first draft of the newsletter, I began to feel sick. I ended up resting for the day and did not mail the newsletter. Whatever bug I have has decided to linger, and I am still not at the top of my game.

(Maybe it was my long stay in Denver International Airport.)

Unsurprisingly after taking it easy for a week in Texas, I returned to work for my day job. Having somewhat limited energy on account of not feeling well, I have been prioritizing the work I get paid for instead of this humble online writing magazine. Fortunately, I figure this bug cannot stay with me for too much longer, so I expect to be healthier and have more time for articles when we enter the second third of June. I have considered availing myself to some of the recipes discussed in my “Cooking for Invalids” – Recipes For the Bedridden From 1800s Britain article, but some of those recipes disturb me (nowhere near as much as “coffee fruit punch,” however.)

That concludes my short personal update. While I am inclined to doubt such an update is necessary, I was inspired to publish one after learning about my tens of millions of RSS feed subscribers. (I hope that the bots which seem to be causing irritating spikes in our Koko Analytics statistics also enjoy the news update.)
