I did not publish any Columbus Day-themed content in 2020 or 2021. That was a terrible oversight on my part. I planned to rectify this deficiency in New Leaf Journal content by publishing a post honoring the great explorer this year. Unfortunately, two things intervened. Firstly, Columbus Day is the kind of holiday that you are far more likely to remember if it results in your having a day off that you would not have otherwise had. I work from home as a de facto contractor, and I have work to do on this Columbus Day, so I did not realize that it was Columbus Day until the day before. Secondly, because I have some pressing work deadlines, I do not have time to write the sort of Columbus Day piece that I had planned to publish. Alas, there is always 2023.
