WordPress is a powerful CMS, but its native search is terrible. I was using the Relevanssi Lite plugin to make it a little bit less terrible. After doing some research, I decided to try the full (but still free version) Relevanssi. My early searches returned relevant (pun intended) results. Give it a try and see what you think.
