While working on my project to review nearly every freeware visual novel that was translated for the three al|together festivals in 2005, 2006, and 2008, I discovered that two of the 31 translations are currently unplayable. The issue is that two of the translations are English patches that require the original Japanese Windows executeable. I may have a lead on one of the two games, Midsummer Haze (Manatsu no Kagerou in Japanese). Currently seeing if my lead pays off. If any readers have a lead, feel free to contact me.
September 2, 2023 Update: I published an article about how I found the Japanese executable for Manatsu no Kagerou as a companion piece to my review of Midsummer Haze, its English translation.
June 4, 2022 Update: I managed to acquire the original Manatsu no Kagerou in a torrent – so this issue has been resolved. I will write a full article about how I found it in the future.
