On October 10, 2020, I published an article about my struggle to set up a soundbar that had come into my possession. After trying and failing to get HDMI ARC to work consistently, I settled for connecting the sound bar to my TV with an optical audio cable.  The other day, the door on the soundbar’s optical audio port broke and became lodged inside, thus rendering it rather useless to me since, as I noted, I cannot get HDMI ARC to work for it.  I ordered a new soundbar that is quite a bit smaller and simpler than the formerly sturdy and older Yamaha ATS-1070.  It works well with the optical audio cable I wrote about back in 2020.  Everything would have been perfect had my universal remote not stopped working with my TV, which I refuse to keep connected to the internet.
