Re; Google Discontinues Translate in Mainland China

I have published several articles calling into question the relationship if big tech companies such as Google and Bing to the Chinese Communist Party. While new about Google’s discontinuing its Translate service in China touch on those issues, I thought of a different question when I read the article. China is one of the very few places in the world where Google is not the dominant search engine. China’s search scene is dominated by local corporations, with Baidu being the dominant player. Baidu offers a full suite of services akin to Google outside of China, including translation services. I am curious how Google Translate compared to Baidu and other China-first services for translating from Mandarin to English. If anyone has thoughts on the matter, feel free to send them along. I would be interested in publishing analysis from people in the know.
