On Friday, I changed my main computer’s Linux distribution from Manjaro (which I used since August 2020) to EndeavourOS. I am very happy with the switch, but there is one annoying early issue. My EndeavourOS install was minimal and as such, there were not many default applications for common file-types out of the box. I was reminded of the issue when I opened a .docx file for work. Naturally, I expected the file to be opened by LibreOffice. Instead, Calibre intervened and opened the file. While I love Calibre, I would much prefer that LibreOffice open .docx files that I am working with. I am slowly setting the correct defaults.
