Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion is a solid, currently-airing anime, based on a Korean novel. I have enjoyed the first half of the series despite its being marred by some clunky animation issues. It has decent opening and ending songs, but neither of its regulars packed enough of a punch to make my list of early 2023 favorites. However, Raeliana pulled out all the ending song stops for a strong finish to episode 6, which clearly marks the series’ half-way point. Crunchyroll posted a link to the full lyric video. I chose a special one-off ending sequence as my opening/ending song of the year for 2022 in Kaguya-sama: Love is War’s special episode 5 ending. I also singled out the second ending (ep 7) for The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten as an early favorite for 2023. While I do not think that either Angel Next Door’s one-episode special ending (which was not quite as good as its main ending) or Raeliana’s will make my final 2023 list in what will be a competitive category this year, it is quite good.
