Sometimes you overhear things on the street. On Sunday, July 25, 2021, I overheard a lady say the following:
Like and like basically like around Labor Day weekend.

“Like and like basically like…”
There is nothing basic about this. The word “basically” is wholly inappropriate here. If anything, the lady was making something basic unnecessarily complicated. From the full context of the snippet of conversation that I heard, she was talking about her son. I assume she was discussing something pertaining to when his school starts.
She could have said that his classes start around Labor Day Weekend, or his camp ends around Labor Day Weekend. But that like would be like basically like too easy, like would it not?
At least she brought her thought to a quasi-conclusion, unlike a prior “like” inclident I reported on in these webpages.
