Update (4/25/2021): We have changed our newsletter service provider from TinyLetter to Buttondown. You can find up-to-date sign-up information on our Newsletter Sign-Up page, linked below.

We have launched our official New Leaf Journal newsletter, The Newsletter Leaf Journal. For the time being, The Newsletter Leaf Journal will be powered by the TinyLetter email newsletter service. We have created a sign-up page on site. Below, we will provide an overview of The Newsletter Leaf Journal and our companion FeedBurner RSS email.

The Newsletter Leaf Journal

Below, you will find Mr. Envelope, The Newsletter Leaf Journal’s official mascot. I designed this very happy mascot to be the face of our newsletter. Mr. Envelope is very understanding, but that does not change the fact that he will be sad if you decide not to subscribe.

"Mr. Letter" is the mascot for The Newsletter Leaf Journal - the official New Leaf Journal newsletter.
“I’m Mr. Envelope Sr., the mascot for The Newsletter Leaf Journal. My friend, Mr. Envelope Jr., is the article thumbnail mascot for The Newsletter Leaf Journal. N.A. Ferrell designed me with love on July 1, 2020. I am a very happy envelope, especially if you subscribe to The Newsletter Leaf Journal. If you do not subscribe, I will be a sad envelope. I was copyrighted by N.A. Ferrell on July 1, 2020.”

We plan to always send one email on weekends. Furthermore, we will usually send one additional email during the week. We are not spammers, however, so you should only expect to find 1-2 editions of The Newsletter Leaf Journal in your inbox on any given week. In the interest of providing you with more information before you sign up, here are some things that you will find in our newsletters:

  • Most recent content
  • Older articles of interest
  • Site update news
  • Original newsletter-only content

Furthermore, you will be able to reply to our newsletter emails in order to get in touch with us. We will read any responses to the newsletter. However, the quickest way to send us a quick message, note, or suggestion is by using our Guestbook or sending your comment to our Facebook or Twitter accounts.

Our FeedBurner RSS Email

Signing up to The Newsletter Leaf Journal is the best way to keep up with new developments at The New Leaf Journal. However, since we will only send out 1-2 editions each week, it will not immediately apprise you of our newest content.

Our FeedBurner email option is for those who want to ensure that they receive our newest content every evening. On days we post articles, FeedBurner will send out an automated email to subscribers at 5:00-7:00 PM EST. There will be no email on days we do not post articles. These emails will be very simple and only include the headline of new article(s), which links to the article on our site, and a brief description of the article.

We think of the RSS email option as a way to supplement our main newsletter. If you would like to ensure that you receive links to our latest content in your inbox every evening, please consider signing up to this email option as well.

Below, you will find Mr. Flame, the mascot I created for our RSS email option. I had originally only created a mascot for The Newsletter Leaf Journal. Being satisfied with my work, I decided to try to rekindle the magic by creating one for the RSS email.

"Mr. Flame" is the mascot for The New Leaf Journal's RSS feed, designed to complement the official New Leaf Journal newsletter, The Newsletter Leaf Journal.
“I’m Mr. Flame, the mascot for The New Leaf Journal’s daily RSS email. N.A. Ferrell designed me with love on July 2, 2020. I am here to complement Mr. Envelope and offer you an additional way to stay on top of the exciting new content at The New Leaf Journal. Please consider signing up for both our official newsletter and our daily updates. I was copyrighted by N.A. Ferrell on July 2, 2020.”
