DuckDuckGo had a bit of a quack-up when a security researcher discovered that its web browser allows Microsoft trackers. The CEO of DuckDuckGo argued that the issue only affects its browser and not its search engine. But that someone had to discover the issue severely undermines DuckDuckGo’s brand. I noted in my F-Droid app review that there are a number of privacy-friendly free and open source browsers available for Android, did anyone demand DuckDuckGo?  If you have to violate your ostensible purpose to undertake a side project, should you undertake the side project at all? You can find some other privacy-friendly search engines in my general review and my piece on Peekier.
