The maintainer of IzzyOnDroid, an free and open source application repository for Android that can be added to F-Droid, posted a PSA on Mastodon about a certain SMS application on the Google Play Store called Mood SMS. This SMS app, which has been downloaded more than 10,000,000 times, contains 35 trackers. All for an SMS app… I recommend QKSMS as a privacy-friendly alternative to the stock Android messaging application and privacy-violating monstrosities such as Mood SMS.  You can also bypass SMS on your end completely by using JMP Chat with an XMPP client.
