On August 30, I wrote that The New Leaf Journal would publish one article every day in September. Through September 21, we did one better, publishing 22 articles. Because some longer content that I am working on is not yet ready for publication, I will take a breather for today’s post with two pictures of a pigeon on a step.

First, see the full color version of the picture of a pigeon on a step, taken by me and edited for publication by Victor.

Victor has done some photo editing professionally. Because he is seldom content with only providing us with a retouched color image, he also submitted a black and white version of the pigeon on a step.

I do not remember exactly where or when I took the original picture. The picture was almost definitely taken in May or June of 2019, either in DUMBO, Brooklyn if it is from May, or the outskirts of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, if it was from June. The uncertainty prevents me from telling the story of the picture, like I did for my previous foray into pigeon photo-journalism, but I do think the pictures came out surprisingly well. Pigeon aficionados may be happy to hear that there is another photo of this pigeon from the same photo shoot. That photo, however, has not yet been retouched, so it will have to be left for a later day when I am in need of content.
