After posting a new photo to my Pixelfed account (see my 2020 Pixelfed review), I took some time to scroll through the newest content from other users. One image from the account of Marco de Booij caught my attention. On first glance, it looked like a bug – but a very bird-like bug. The caption explained the confusion: “Is it a hummingbird? No, it is a hummingbird hawk-moth.” I never heard of a hummingbird hawk moth. As if to confirm that this confusing creature is real, I searched for “hummingbird hawk moth” on Brave Search. Sure enough, it is very real. I cannot look away. How do we bring these guys to Brooklyn Bridge Park?
