I have not seen too many inflatable Easter yard decorations this year (the same was true in 2021). I think that people burned through their holiday decoration budgets for Halloween (so much so that many could not clean up afterwards). However, as we saw with St. Patrick’s Day, the issue is not how many decorations there are, but whether they are attention-grabbing. While walking through the Brooklyn neighborhood of Carroll Gardens, my attention was grabbed by a… well… you can see it below.

An inflatable rainbow-colored smiling Easter egg with bunny ears and bunny limbs sitting outside a home in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.
I took this photo with my Pixel 3a XL on April 4, 2023.

This, my fair readers, appears to be a multi-color inflatable smiling Easter egg with bunny arms (arms?) and feet to go with ears. But this raises a question similar to those which I posed with respect to a friendly-looking inflatable trick-or-treating ghost (possibly resolved) and a sheet-clad Minion: Is this a bunny dressed as an egg, an egg dressed as a bunny, or an egg with bunny features? I do not have the answers, and I cannot look away.

Being an intrepid researcher, I decided to look up the decoration online. I discovered that the decorations are available on Amazon (see Archive Today capture or Wayback Machine capture). As of April 8, 2023, a pair of “joyfuny Lawn Led Rabbit Blow M Lights Easter Indoor Holiday Party Plug Yard Inflattable Us Bunny Ear for Decoration and Garden Decorations Egg Light Inflatable Outdoor Cute” (they should consider a shorter name) costs $91.76 whereas one costs just over $48. (Please note that I spelled the product name exactly as it appears.)

Not sure about the branding.

The manufacturer appears to be jojofuny, which we can only hope is more reputable than GLBSUNION and CUZMAK. The Amazon seller page indicates that it is being sold by zhikangzixunyouxiangongsi. In related news, this article comes to you from the waterproof keyboard of nicholasaustinferrell.

Notwithstanding its unwieldy name and nondescript manufacturer and seller, the inflatable egg with bunny ears (or rabbit in an egg costume) is endearing, and I suppose it adds some color to a lawn, patio, or other outdoor space (I am not sure about it being marketed as an indoor decoration, however).

Screen capture from saving a new version of an image in Nomacs. The image is of a strange inflatable bunny Easter egg decoration. The Nomacs save pane only shows the eyes, creating a strange image.
I used my favorite photo viewer, Nomacs, to save a copy of the image while preparing it for publication. The save window amused me, so I decided to share it.
